Hi there! My name is Elfy and I’m an award-winning freelance journalist, presenter, and producer. I’m also currently an ambassador for the not-for-profit, the Satellite Foundation and you can check out their work here.

My debut book The One Thing We’ve Never Spoken About was published in early 2023 with Pantera Press and focuses on the silence and stigma that still surrounds complex mental health conditions in Australia.

Most recently, I worked as executive editor at Mamamia, publishing long-form journalism, columns, and appearing on podcasts such as The Quicky, Mamamia Out Loud, Lady Startup Stories, and The Spill.

You may also know me from my time hosting and producing podcasts, including the Spotify exclusive Australian politics show Left Right Out and The Green Canary, an environmental news podcast.

Before that I was the senior producer and host of the daily online news show, The Junkee Takeaway on Facebook Watch, which reached over 20 million views in its first year alone.

In 2021, I took home a B&T 30 Under 30 award in the producer and journalist category for my work with The Junkee Takeaway.

My journalism and columns have appeared in The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, The Age, Crikey, The Feed, BuzzFeed News, and VICE and I make frequent on-air appearances on Triple j’s Hack program, as well as ABC Radio Sydney.

As an on-camera presenter, I’ve worked with a number of high-profile brands and organisations including Red Bull, Google, Snapchat, and Greenpeace.

As an MC and speaker, I have led major events such as the 2023 National Summit on Intergenerational Fairness and the 2022 Momentum Sustainable Finance conference. I’m also a frequent appearance on festival events, such as panels and debates.

I also hold a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences from the University of New South Wales and a Master’s degree in Advanced Journalism from the University of Technology, Sydney.

I’m always looking to freelance and collaborate with new teams. I’m particularly interested in climate science and mental health. If you’re in need of a writer, producer, host, or journalist, please feel free to send an inquiry through my contact page or send me a message on Instagram.

For any other projects, please reach out to my agent, Cathy Baker at CMC Talent.
